Recreational marijuana becomes legal in Illinois on January 1, 2020. The new marijuana laws will have many impacts, including the workplace. Attorneys Tim Gronewold and Noah Menold will discuss what businesses and employers need to know about the new laws, along with best practices for ensuring that employment policies and handbooks are in compliance.

Mr. Menold handles all aspects of the litigation process, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trials, and appeals. Prior to joining Howard & Howard, he concentrated his practice in healthcare and medical malpractice defense. Mr. Menold has experience representing hospitals, clinics, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in complex litigation, as well as compliance and corporate governance matters.
Tim has assisted clients in the areas of contract disputes, business torts, real estate, commercial leases,
construction claims, shareholder disputes, injunctive relief, insurance coverage disputes, medical
expenses, trust litigation, and the exercising of creditors? rights through workout scenarios, as well as
foreclosure and replevin proceedings. He has assisted employers with litigation involving Title VII, the
Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave
Act, federal wage and hour claims, interpretation of employment contracts, restrictive covenants, noncompete agreements, non-solicitation agreements, civil rights administrative proceedings, unemployment claims, and investigations of alleged workplace misconduct. Tim has further assisted in
multiple arbitration disputes involving broker-dealers under the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
He has also assisted municipal entities.
