Program Mission and Goals

The mission of Leadership Morton is to develop business and community leaders by cultivating skills, awareness, and engagement through intentional learning experiences for the continual betterment of the Village of Morton and our employers.

The program identifies emerging leaders to protect the tradition of strong leadership for our community on a continuing basis by:

> Developing informed, skilled and vigorous leadership capable of understanding community, organizational, and corporate issues, interpreting facts related to the issues and influencing decisions based upon these facts;

> Preparing a number of committed individuals to assume responsible positions with non-profit, civic, citizen, and corporate organizations within the community; and

> Providing participants with a broad understanding of public issues, workings of state and local government, civic challenges facing all of us, and the role the community and organizations play in problem solving.

Participation in Leadership Morton is open to individuals who reside, work, or spend a majority of volunteer time in Morton and are employed by a member of the Morton Chamber of Commerce. A minimum of 20 participants with a maximum of 25 are selected annually for the program.
